Rhuthee, a contestant on Big Brother Naija Season 9, revealed her experience as a teenage mother.
During a conversation with fellow housemate Mayor Frosh, she admitted feeling ashamed initially about being a parent at a young age. However, she later realized that her daughter was the greatest blessing in her life.
She struggled to disclose her motherhood status, saying, “How do I tell people I have a child? I can’t tell people. I never used to tell people I have a child,” as tears welled up in her eyes.
Only close acquaintances knew about her situation, and she carried the sense of shame for many years. It took her a long time to overcome those feelings.
As time passed, her daughter’s affection and love towards her helped Rhuthee immensely. She expressed her admiration, stating, “As she grows, she even showed me more love than I ever did. And I’m like, this girl is the best thing that happened to me.”
