Ben, a contestant on Big Brother Naija Season 9, has made a bold claim that Terry Waya, the father of former season 5 housemate Kiddwaya, funded the election campaigns of five current governors in Nigeria.
He also stated that Kiddwaya gave a fellow participant from season 5 a sum of N10 million post the show.
During a conversation with other housemates on Sunday night, Ben disclosed these allegations.
He, however, did not disclose the names of the governors supported by Kiddwaya’s father or which housemate Kidd offered N10 million to.
A statement by housemate Shaun regarding the lack of post-show success among male BBNaija finalists prompted Ben to reveal information concerning the Wayas.
Shaun: I don’t see much happening with the male finalists after the show. They seem to fade away.
Ben: They actually do! It all depends on the plans and efforts you’ve made for yourself. Take Kiddwaya, for instance, he’s wealthy and prefers a leisurely lifestyle in his private jet. His father is extremely rich and could possibly be a trillionaire.
He supported more than five governors in their election bids.
Shaun: Was this during the last election?
Ben: Yes. That’s his usual practice; you just need to approach him and state your intentions. Five current governors were backed by his father.
Shaun: The financial implications of such support must be enormous.
Ben: Consider the returns he would receive. You can’t just sponsor a governor with billions without expecting significant benefits. Sponsoring a state governor indicates a level of power and influence over them.
Shaun: It involves a lot of connections too.
Ben: Kiddwaya even mentioned it in the house; did you guys miss that?
Kiddwaya handed out N10 million to someone while in the house, specifying that if certain conditions are met, the money would be given post the show.
